Phoenix ComiCon 2014 Part 1

June 16, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

Like last year, I was honored to be a volunteer on the 2014 Phoenix ComiCon photography team. It was, as expected, a very tiring experience but also incredible. Even though it ended bittersweet, it was still an amazing time that I cannot wait to repeat.

As usual, there were a lot of people dressed up in amazing costumes. People will sometimes put thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours into them, but in the end, it is well worth it.

Some people cannot spend nearly as much time or money on their costumes, but I love the looks on their faces when I ask to take a photograph. This is because, as Wil Wheaton said, "Being a nerd is not about what you love; its about how you love it." They love their show, game, or comic book so much that they made a costume and they are proud of it. And they should be! I embrace anyone with that much passion, because even if I don't enjoy their chosen thing, I know what they feel because I have that same feeling for something else.
